OPPO Teases Next Flagship Featuring MediaTek 2nm Chip

OPPO has confirmed that its next flagship phone, the Find X10 Pro Max, will be one of the first smartphones to ship with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. This means the Find X10 Pro Max will be among the earliest devices to use MediaTek’s latest 2nm flagship processor, a significant step forward in mobile silicon for both efficiency and performance.

A smaller, more efficient chip inside

The move to a 2nm manufacturing node promises meaningful gains in power efficiency and thermal performance. According to MediaTek, the 2nm process brings up to 61% better power efficiency during heavy multitasking compared with the previous generation. For users, that should translate into noticeably longer battery life during demanding use without compromising responsiveness or raw speed.

OPPO is also quoting real-world performance improvements. The company says the Dimensity 9600 Pro delivers around 17% faster performance for everyday tasks, making common actions like app switching, web browsing, and system navigation feel snappier. Gaming performance receives an even larger uplift, with roughly 27% faster sustained performance during long play sessions, driven in part by a new graphics subsystem that supports more sophisticated lighting and visual effects while maintaining consistent frame rates.

Another major component of the chipset is its dual-AI-processor design. One of these AI units is a more powerful engine dedicated to heavy workloads like advanced photo processing, complex image enhancement, and on-device machine learning tasks. The second is a lower-power, always-on processor intended for background tasks such as voice assistants, ambient sensing, and other persistent features. OPPO claims the lighter AI core consumes about 40% less power than previous implementations, which should help maintain battery life while enabling smarter, always-available features.

To further refine the experience, OPPO and MediaTek collaborated on software optimizations called the Laminar Flow Engine. This suite of system-level tweaks and scheduling improvements is designed to keep apps launching quickly and the user interface feeling fluid even under load. The combination of a more efficient fabrication process, upgraded GPU, dual AI engines, and software tuning aims to deliver a balanced improvement across battery life, sustained performance, and everyday smoothness.

OPPO has not yet held the full global launch for the Find X10 series, but more details are emerging. The Find X10 lineup is expected to debut in China on 22 September, with international availability likely to follow in the weeks or months after that. Early specifications point to several headline features OPPO has teased for some time, including a notably large 8,000mAh battery on the Pro Max model and an ambitious camera setup that reportedly includes multiple 200-megapixel sensors on the Pro Max variant.
