Apple Unveils 600-Seat London Venue Featuring On-Site Studios

Shortly after its newest iPhone Pro reached stores, Apple has opened Apple Music Hall, a new live music venue housed within the restored Battersea Power Station in London. Situated on the River Thames, the venue seats around 600 people and blends the building’s historic architecture with modern interior design. The space also includes facilities designed for Apple’s audio and broadcast productions, including dedicated areas for podcasts and radio shows.

At the centre of Apple Music Hall is a flexible 38-foot-wide stage that can host both conventional end-stage performances and in-the-round setups. The venue’s audio system is built around a 48-speaker spatial sound rig, designed to deliver immersive audio to the live audience and to support high-quality recordings. Behind the stage, Apple has installed two professional recording and mixing studios, plus a broadcast control room equipped for multi-camera production and iPhone-based video capture.

Apple says the venue’s technical setup is intended to let artists deliver live performances that are simultaneously suitable for professional recording. The stage and studios support Spatial Audio capture, enabling performances to be recorded and mixed in immersive formats. At the same time, the broadcast-ready control room allows shows to be livestreamed worldwide with a polished, broadcast-quality mix.

Beyond concerts, Apple Music Hall and the adjacent Apple Music Radio studios in Battersea will host the platform’s London-based programming. Apple confirmed that the new radio studios will be the base for its local hosts and shows, offering a live broadcast home inside the historic power station complex.

Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1, commented on the project’s ambitions and purpose. He emphasised Apple Music’s long-standing commitment to artists and to connecting musicians with fans. According to Lowe, the new venue offers an opportunity to celebrate those connections in a distinctive space where intimate, memorable performances can be shared both in person and with audiences around the world.

“At Apple Music, we care deeply about music, the artists who make it, and their life stories… We’re always looking for new opportunities to connect the artists and the fans because we are fans. What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world. Great music and memories will be made at Apple Music Hall.”

Apple Music Hall represents a continuation of the company’s recent investments in music, creative content, and live experiences. By integrating high-end recording and broadcast capabilities directly into a performance venue, Apple is creating a facility that supports a wide range of uses: intimate club-style concerts, larger theatrical productions, podcast tapings, radio broadcasts, and livestreamed events. For artists, this setup reduces the gap between a live show and a studio-quality recording or livestream, while for audiences it offers both a premium in-person experience and the option to watch performances remotely.

Located within a landmark building on the Thames, Apple Music Hall also adds to Battersea Power Station’s evolving role as a cultural hub. The combination of restored historic architecture and contemporary production technology aims to make the space attractive to established artists and emerging performers alike. The venue’s seating capacity and technical flexibility make it suitable for a broad variety of formats, from headline concerts and special broadcasts to album launch events and curated listening sessions.

As Apple begins programming at Apple Music Hall and the new Apple Music Radio studios, fans can expect to see a mix of live performances, curated broadcasts, and recorded sessions designed for both local and global audiences. The company’s focus on Spatial Audio, professional production suites, and livestreaming capability signals a desire to elevate the quality of music content produced on-site and to make those performances widely accessible.
