Nothing Debuts Clip-On Earbuds for $99 with 32-Hour Battery

Nothing’s CMF brand, focused on affordable audio, has introduced a new pair of wireless earbuds called the Clip Pro. Rather than sitting inside the ear canal, these earbuds clip onto the outer ear like a small earring. That design keeps the ear canal open, allowing you to hear ambient sounds — useful for staying aware of traffic, conversations, or your surroundings while enjoying music or podcasts.

The Clip Pro targets people who find conventional in-ear buds uncomfortable during long listening sessions. Because they don’t seal the ear, they provide a less intrusive wearing experience that many users find more comfortable for extended use. This open-ear approach makes the Clip Pro suitable for runners, cyclists, city walkers, commuters, and those who want audio while still being able to engage with the environment or coworkers at a desk.

This release follows a broader industry trend toward clip-style and open-ear earbuds, and arrives after CMF’s other budget earbuds launched recently at the same $99 price point. The Clip Pro offers an inexpensive entry into the open-ear category, where many competing models are priced considerably higher.

What you get for $99

Each Clip Pro earbud weighs about 6.5 grams. They use a flexible titanium wire that wraps around the ear at three contact points instead of a single hook. According to CMF, that multi-point support spreads pressure more evenly across the ear to improve comfort and stability during movement or long wear.

To address a common weakness of open-ear designs — limited bass response — CMF built in what it calls Ultra Bass Technology to boost low-frequency output. The earbuds also support high-resolution LDAC audio for users who prioritize higher-fidelity wireless listening. For voice calls and clearer capture of your voice, the Clip Pro includes four built-in microphones designed to reduce background noise and focus on speech.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours on a single charge, extending to roughly 32 hours when combined with the included charging case. A quick 10-minute charge is advertised to add up to four hours of listening time, which is convenient for short top-ups before a run or commute.

A practical feature returning from other CMF products is the Smart Dial: a small wheel integrated into the charging case. The dial allows users to adjust volume, skip tracks, or answer calls without needing to reach for their phone, offering a tactile control option that complements touch gestures on the earbuds themselves.

The Clip Pro is offered in Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Coral color options. CMF has set the U.S. price at $99 and scheduled the on-sale date for August 15. That price positions the Clip Pro well below many open-ear earbuds, which often carry higher premiums, making this an attractive option for budget-conscious shoppers curious about open-ear audio.

If you’ve been intrigued by open-ear earbuds but hesitant to pay premium prices, the Clip Pro is one of the more affordable ways to try the form factor. Keep in mind that an open design intentionally allows ambient sound in, so active noise cancellation is not included and should not be expected. Instead, the Clip Pro prioritizes situational awareness, comfort, and battery life for everyday use.
