Facebook Marketplace Launches Dedicated App for Sellers

Facebook Marketplace has quietly grown into one of the most popular places to buy and sell locally, thanks to its accessibility and simple workflow. Now Meta is taking a step to make selling even easier by launching a standalone app called “Seller,” a dedicated experience built specifically for people and small businesses that use Facebook Marketplace.

The rollout of Seller coincides with the tenth anniversary of Facebook Marketplace and brings several seller-focused features into a single, streamlined hub. Rather than juggling multiple tools or navigating through the main Facebook app, sellers can use Seller to create listings, manage inventory, communicate with buyers, and review performance metrics in one place. This approach is aimed at reducing friction for casual sellers and businesses that list many items.

One of Seller’s key conveniences is automatic syncing with an existing Facebook Marketplace account. Active listings, buyer message threads, and sales history are carried over into the new app, so users do not need to rebuild their storefronts or re-enter product details. Any new listing created inside Seller is published to Facebook Marketplace as usual, while the traditional selling experience in the primary Facebook app remains unchanged. This sync preserves continuity while offering a more focused seller interface.

Seller also includes a number of workflow tools designed to speed up listing and inventory management. The app can analyze uploaded photos to suggest listing titles, generate descriptions, recommend categories, and propose pricing. This AI-assisted listing creation helps sellers produce clearer, more consistent listings with less manual effort. For people and businesses that manage large inventories, a bulk-listing feature simplifies uploading many items at once.

To help sellers stay organized, Seller provides a central dashboard that highlights priority tasks: pending orders, buyer messages that need replies, and items that may require repricing. The inbox is unified so conversations from multiple listings are easy to follow, reducing the risk of missed messages and improving response times. For sellers who handle frequent inquiries, these features help keep communications tidy and actionable.

Performance analytics are built into the app, offering insights into how listings are performing over time. Sellers can view item views, clicks, and trends in sales activity, enabling them to refine pricing, update photos, or change descriptions based on measurable results. These analytics turn raw activity into useful data that sellers can act on to improve conversion and turnover.

Privacy and account continuity are also core parts of the Seller experience. The app is designed to respect existing Marketplace settings while bringing together the tools sellers need. Sales history and previous buyer conversations remain available, which reduces the learning curve for sellers migrating to the new app and ensures records remain intact for bookkeeping and customer service purposes.

The initial release of Seller is available on the App Store to users in the United States who are 18 years or older, with an Android release expected to follow. Meta has positioned the app as a companion to Facebook Marketplace rather than a replacement, enabling sellers to choose the most convenient way to manage their listings and sales activity.

By centralizing AI-powered listing creation, inventory tools, a unified inbox, and an integrated analytics suite in one application, Seller aims to make selling on Facebook Marketplace faster and more efficient. For individuals selling occasionally or businesses running high-volume listings, the app provides practical features that reduce manual work and surface the information needed to grow and manage an online storefront.
