If you own a Lucid Gravity SUV, check your vehicle for a new software update from Lucid that delivers hands-free highway driving and a range of navigation, charging, and usability improvements. Lucid says the update has begun rolling out to Gravity owners in North America, with additional regions to follow in coming months.
The centerpiece of this release is Hands-Free Drive Assist. On compatible North American highways the Gravity can now manage steering, acceleration, and braking while requiring the driver to remain attentive. The system supports automatic and signal-activated lane changes to smoothly navigate around slower traffic, and it offers selectable driving styles such as “Conservative” and “Assertive” so drivers can tailor behavior to their comfort level. The Clearview Cockpit displays a real-time five-lane visualization that classifies nearby vehicles, highlights potential obstacles that might block a lane change, and provides clearer situational awareness during active driving-assist operation.
Navigation receives a substantial upgrade with Google Maps Places API integration inside Lucid’s navigation system. Drivers will see business hours, user ratings, photos, and benefit from natural-language search, making it easier to find destinations and points of interest. Route planning has also been improved: the system uses true driving distances and enhanced, real-time information about charging station availability so planned routes and charging stops better reflect actual conditions on the road.
For improved nighttime driving, the update introduces Adaptive Driving Beam technology on vehicles equipped with DreamDrive Premium and Pro packages. This adaptive high-beam system keeps high beams active while dynamically reshaping the light pattern to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers and to improve illumination of the road ahead. The result is safer, more confident night driving without the discomfort of frequent manual beam switching.
Charging and battery management features have been refined as well. The update adds an Advanced Preconditioning View and a Predictive Charging Power indicator that show battery readiness and estimate peak charging speeds before you plug into a DC fast charger. These tools help drivers plan charging stops more effectively and reduce uncertainty about how quickly a vehicle will charge under current conditions. Energy Saver Mode has been updated too: occupants can now make climate adjustments without fully disabling the vehicle’s efficiency settings, providing a better balance between comfort and range preservation.
Beyond driving assist, navigation, and charging, Lucid’s software update includes a set of usability and convenience enhancements. System startup time is faster, proximity detection for automated door locking and unlocking is more responsive, and drivers can set customizable automatic mirror tilt when reversing to improve visibility. The Halo Secure Drive Recorder benefits from improved video processing for clearer, more reliable footage. Together these refinements contribute to a smoother, more polished ownership experience for Gravity drivers.
Lucid’s rollout approach means owners in North America will see the update first, with the company indicating broader regional availability later.
