Puffin Cloud Phone is predominantly distributed as a pre-installed app by phone manufacturers. It is released on Google Play Store to facilitate app updates. For users without Puffin Cloud Phone pre-installed, a paid subscription is required as a barrier and reminder that the app is not for them. Puffin Cloud Phone is a game changer to bridge the digital divide. Puffin Cloud Phone has a unique architecture to run virtual phones in the cloud. The apps on a virtual phone are Web Apps in the cloud. It separates a full browser into two halves: Display Rasterization on the device and HTML Rendering in the cloud.
